Alan joined our office in 2018 and has over 25 years of investigative experience in complex criminal and sensitive public complaint investigations.

As the Deputy Ombudsman for the complaints division, Alan is responsible for three business streams: complaints of Government maladministration, private and public sector whistleblowing disclosures, and public complaints concerning police misconduct.

Alan’s highly transferable skills allow our office to draw on his expertise in crime scene management, investigating, mediating, and resolving public complaints.

He continues to be the senior lead on all sensitive and complex police complaints including own motion investigations, some sadly involving the death and serious harm to members of the public.

A dedicated public servant, and passionate advocate for accountability, integrity, fairness, and confidentiality evidenced throughout a distinguished career in the Military, Police Service, UK Home Office, and the Office of the Ombudsman – Cayman Islands.

Alan is a qualified civil and commercial mediator, TCM accredited investigator, and is currently pursuing his International Leadership and Management (ILM) qualifications.
